Updated look to a favorite technique!

images copyright Stampin' Up!
A year or two ago I had learned a Color Blocking technique which allowed you to create four striking cards fairly quickly.  It was a hit with my stampin' friends!  We actually completed a set of 16 cards in the technique class that I hosted.  Recently, I found the extra supplies left over from this class and decided to update the original look we created and put those extras to use!

Above is the original Color Block card from the class.  This card measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".  You may notice retired stamps and colors, but it can always be recreated with the current supplies I'm listing below or with what you have on hand.  To get the look you stamp four different colored quarter sheets of card stock in four different images.

Shown above is the updated version using the awesome new Thick Whisper White cardstock and smaller color blocks. The card measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".   Here are the measurements (h x w) of the color blocks:
yellow 3"x 2 1/2", green 1 1/4" x 1", red 3" x 1", blue 1 1/4" x 2 1/2"

And I thought it would also make a cute note card sized 3 1/2" x 5"...with a banner greeting and some bling!  Very trendy...no?  Like I mentioned earlier, you can recreate this technique with any stamp set including some suggestions featured below.

A Bag Tag...

from Ronald McDonald House Charities Sprinkles of Life!

Told you I was having fun with this set!  I realize it's Thanksgiving weekend and there are no more flowers outside of my window, but this just makes me smile:)  The tag is from the Chalk Talk Framelits and fits over a cello bag of goodies....just slip it over the gathered section and it stays put!  Check my last post for supplies...I used the some of the same ones and added the Framelit, Whisper White ink, and Pool Party ink.

One good thing...

on top of another!

One thing I love the day after Thanksgiving... (besides all of the yummy leftovers) is that all I have planned is to decorate for Christmas and take the time to be crafty!  So I broke out this year's Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp set Sprinkles of Life.  I just LOVE this set and see so may possibilities!  I did "case" this card from my Stampin' Up! Stampin' Success magazine, but it did get my creative juices flowing, so make sure to check back for more ideas for this special set!

Audrey's Rainbow

My daughter was watching the live stream of Stampin' Up! Convention last night and was inspired to create the above card...designed by her, all on her own!  She watercolored the rainbow on our new Whisper White Thick cardstock using an Aquapainter and ink from Stampin' Write Markers (she scribbled each marker onto a plastic container lid and picked up each color to make the "paint" for the rainbow watercolor wash).

We're busy creating cards using the Ronald McDonald House Charities Sprinkles of Life stamp set for our upcoming Stamp Camp fundraiser in August.  Contact me if you're interested in attending!
