A little Valentine note

Gotta love little notes!  This one measures 2 3/4" x 4"....you can get four little notes out of one sheet of card stock.  Slice off a 1/2" from the short side of CS (the 8 1/2" side) and then cut the four card bases along the 11" side at 2 3/4" ...you'll get exactly four!  Save the 1/2" strip for the greeting banner as shown above.

We made this card at my last Stamp Camp.  We used a watercolor wash with the emboss resist technique: emboss the hearts and then apply the ink with an Aquapainter or watercolor brush, the hearts will "resist" the color.

This card was inspired by my friend Marisa's beautiful creations here: Dzines by MEG  She's one of Stampin' Up!'s  Artisan Award winners (for the second time!).

Project Life Roses

Back in November I won a free stamp set at the local Stampin' Up! OnStage event.  It's the Project Life Memories in the Making set.  As you can see, it's not just for scrapbooking!  I can't take total credit for this creative use of the circles from the set...I got my inspiration from this creation here: abstract rose inspiration.  I also used the FREE Sale-a-Bration set What I Love for the middle of the flowers and the leaves.  Check back tomorrow for a valentine with this set!

Sale-a-Bration comes to life!

I love, love, LOVE this card featured on the cover of the Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration catalog!  I just had to recreate it and made it my own by swapping out the vellum butterfly for a pansy flower and added a cute little flower too.  You can get your Botanicals for You stamp set for FREE with a qualifying Sale-a-Bration order.  Get all the supplies listed below and get another SAB product for FREE...like the Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum Stack.

Updated look to a favorite technique!

images copyright Stampin' Up!
A year or two ago I had learned a Color Blocking technique which allowed you to create four striking cards fairly quickly.  It was a hit with my stampin' friends!  We actually completed a set of 16 cards in the technique class that I hosted.  Recently, I found the extra supplies left over from this class and decided to update the original look we created and put those extras to use!

Above is the original Color Block card from the class.  This card measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".  You may notice retired stamps and colors, but it can always be recreated with the current supplies I'm listing below or with what you have on hand.  To get the look you stamp four different colored quarter sheets of card stock in four different images.

Shown above is the updated version using the awesome new Thick Whisper White cardstock and smaller color blocks. The card measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".   Here are the measurements (h x w) of the color blocks:
yellow 3"x 2 1/2", green 1 1/4" x 1", red 3" x 1", blue 1 1/4" x 2 1/2"

And I thought it would also make a cute note card sized 3 1/2" x 5"...with a banner greeting and some bling!  Very trendy...no?  Like I mentioned earlier, you can recreate this technique with any stamp set including some suggestions featured below.
