People always ask me what they should get in their Starter Kit. 

So here’s what I would put in my own order if I were starting from scratch today. I built it around the Subtles color family because those soft, happy colors work for birthdays, baby cards, thank-yous, and just about everything in between.

  1. Paper Trimmer ($28.00): The tool I use every single day. It cuts and scores, so card bases are a breeze.
  2. Bone Folder ($8.00): For crisp folds every time.
  3. Stampin’ Seal and Multipurpose Liquid Glue ($9.00 + $6.50): A tape runner for everyday layers, plus the “green glue” for anything that needs a little wiggle room.
  4. Simply Shammy ($9.00): Super easy way to get your stamps clean between colors with just a little water!
  5. Basic White 8-1/2" x 11" Cardstock ($14.00): For your stamped panels and layers.
  6. Basic White Medium Envelopes ($15.00): Because a handmade card deserves a matching envelope….they are stamp-able!
  7. Subtles 8-1/2" x 11" Cardstock ($14.00): A sampler of all ten Subtles colors, including Pool Party and Petal Pink, my go-tos for card bases.
  8. Three Subtles Classic Stampin’ Pads ($33.00): My picks are Lost Lagoon, Bubble Bath, and Petal Pink. Stamp them together, solo, or paired up!
  9. Balloon Festoon Stamp Set ($21.00): Balloons, confetti, stars, and sentiments for so many kinds of celebrations, not just for birthdays.
  10. Clear Blocks C and H ($8.00 + $9.50): The two sizes you need to stamp Balloon Festoon, and you’ll use them for every set after.

Total: $175.00

Join us for our Creative Celebrations Craft Hour!

Flash Class—only ONE WEEK to register!

Holiday Cards and Tags!  $45 (includes shipping)

Want to create 10 adorable and EASY cards plus tags at your own pace at home?  Join ulia Mazur of Simply She Stamps and Emily Kimmey of EMK Creations for this craft-along experience. 

We will share 20 card ideas (plus bonus ideas) as well as tag ideas for you to use for inspiration.  This experience is not meant to be a step-by-step class but a way for you to use all the fun product we send you to create your own masterpieces! You can certainly copy our designs but you have the freedom to create on your own.  Plus, you will have lots of product left to create even more holiday projects.

 Want dedicated time to work on these projects?  We will host a Zoom craft hour on Tuesday, October 20th at 7 pm Central for you to work on your projects with us. If you can’t make the Zoom hour it’s ok!  We’ll also have a Facebook group set up to share all of our creations and for you to share yours. 

You will get:

  • Festive Flecks Card bases and envelopes (pack of 10)
  • 7 sheets of ephemera (stickers and double-sided) from Season of Celebration and Happiest Season Tags Mix and Match
  • 16 sheets of the Creative Celebrations 6 x 6 DSP
  • 2 sheets of die cuts
  • A roll of red and white twine
  • A sampling of Adhesive Backed Sparkle Sequins

Additional supplies you will need to have:
  • Paper trimmer
  • Adhesive (we recommend glue/tape and dimensionals)
  • Stamps and ink if you choose to add inside messages or other phrases.  The ephemera includes some words!

National Live Creative Day!


Yesterday was National Live Creative Day!  


I did get to spend a bit of time in my craft room creating this card.  I'm loving fall colors...and that 70's Retro palette!  You may have seen another card made with the set Round About Messages...actually, the same layout, just different colors and papers.  And can we give a shout-out to the sleeper hit Hearth & Home Designer Series Paper!  Multiple sheets of the same pattern!  HUGE variety of squares...just cut the 4x4 or 3x3 squares as an element for your project!  And a full neutral pattern B-side!

This one's a pretty quick card to put together, and scraps work great for the banner and accent strip!  Keep this sketch on hand as a resource when you sit down to be CREATIVE!

Happy SUMMER! Make a SPLASH card!

 


Same sketch, new card!

Need a card idea quickly?  Use a SKETCH (a.k.a. card template)!  I wanted to celebrate the first day of summer, but was short on time to design.  So why not copy the last card template as inspiration?

This time I used the Splash & Relax Bundle paired with the Everyday Essentials Designer Series Paper.  A little bit of stamping, some die-cutting, and extra sparkles and this card sure makes a splash!

While the inner tube is stamped with Bubble Bath and Fresh Freesia ink, the other fun elements are die-cut from the versatile Everyday Essentials DSP...a great way to use scraps if I must say!  And when you need some color inspiration, start with some Designer Series Paper and use those colors as your guide.

Suite Sketch for Velvet Meadow!

 

Sometimes the simplest sketches create the prettiest cards!


For this card, I used Velvet Meadow Designer Series Paper for the background and as the 3” x 4” layer to anchor my sentiment and floral images. This one is such an easy layout to recreate with any favorite paper in your stash!  Pro TIP: pair a busy pattern with one that is subtle so they don’t compete!

And can we talk about this paper for a minute? The Velvet Meadow DSP has gorgeous velvet accents already built into the design. It adds beautiful TEXTURE and dimension without any extra work!  The question is...can you feel it through the screen? 😍


I love how the soft florals pop against the Peaceful Pine banner and how this simple sketch lets the paper do most of the work.  I fussy-cut those flowers from the DSP!  And another TIP: Use those images that are cut off on the edges of your paper!  Just strategically place the straight edge on your project!

Save this sketch for your next crafting session and let me know…are you a fan of textured paper?  You know I LOVE DSP and when it has something SPECIAL added, it totally ROCKS!
