Let's Talk Templates!

Page 24 Templates!

A favorite addition to last year's Annual Catalog was a page filled with card templates!
And it carried on through the mini catalogs and THIS YEAR's 2025-2026 Annual Catalog!

I was honored to be asked to present about these templates at a recent Great Lakes Demo Gathering.  My friend Steph and I created our versions of two templates (scroll down to see my two cards).  I mentioned that it's hard to just sit down and come up with a card idea.  All artists need INSPIRATION...even Monet had waterlilies to inspire his great works of art!

So a few things about these card (& tag) templates on page 24....
  1. Don't be afraid to interpret the template in a different way!
  2. Swap out elements for stamping or embellishments!
  3. Add some layers to the tag templates to make a card!
  4. They're not just on page 24!  Use the samples throughout the catalog as a template!
The Pretty in Pink card above was made for a themed bridal shower.  I'll have to make another one because the next bridal shower I'm attending has the same theme....PETALS & PROSECCO!  Can you guess which template I used?  This card was actually the first thing I imagined for our presentation, but opted for another design!  Get a closer look below!

Here is another with that same template!

And of course....the two I made for our presentation!  First one is based on the same template as the two above!  I swapped out the sentiment on the right for a linen thread bow!

Which template do you think inspired this cute cupcake card?  You're gonna have to go check out page 24 of the Annual Catalog!  Let me know if you need a copy!

Wildflower Birthday Mini Bundt Cake Box

Today's Lunch & Learn featured a cake box and a CASE'd card from the Mini Catalog!

I'm lovin' the Wildflower Birthday Suite...the die-cuts and gold accent on the Designer Series Paper are my favorites! This suite includes a stamp/die bundle that cuts out numbers to personalize your birthday (or anniversary) project.

The mini Bundt cake box is fairly simple to make AND I'm amazed there is NO ADHESIVE needed to keep it securely closed. The dimensions and score lines are listed below along with a how-to video.

Bundt Cake Box

·        Start with a piece of cardstock measuring 6 ¼” a 11”.

·        Along the 6 ¼” side, score 1 ½” from each side.

·        Along the 11” side, score at 3 ¼”, 4 ¾”, 8” and 9 ½”.

·        Trim out the top small squares to make the flap and round the corners of the flap.

·        For each of the remaining small squares, score from the corner of the large bottom square to the opposite corner (towards the outside edge).

·        Fold on score lines and using a bone folder, make crisp edges.

·        Box will fold in on itself and then secure closed by bringing up the flat top of box and insert flap into “pocket” made at the edge of the top of the box.

Here is an up-close look at the notecard I made based on the card featured in the Mini Catalog!

Super-Cute Hugs & Kisses Treat Pouch!

So the story of this super-cute pouch starts two Christmases ago when my stampin' friend Beth, from Beth's Paper Cuts, gifted me a "self-closing" box that held yummy candies.  Fast forward to my Galentine Stamp Camp last weekend when I wanted a smaller container for valentine treats.  I wanted to provide an idea in which crafters could make multiples and not break the bank filling them with valentine chocolates (hence the smaller version of this cool "self-closing" box).

The sentiment from the Hugs for Love stamp is PERFECT for this pouch filled with....wait for it...
hugs & kisses candies obviously!

You can make SIX of these pouches from one piece of 12x12 Designer Series Paper.

I used the Marbled Elegance and retired Most Adored DSP

See the template below to help you make this giftable!

(Not a high-tech template, but it gets the job done!)
