Celebrate Spring!

I’m a little late with the first day of spring post, but I’m so happy with how my card turned out!  This layout is based off a Stampin’ Up! sample from an upcoming catalog.   N

The two pieces of Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper measures 2” x 4” and the card base is Petal Pink. Poppy Parade was the perfect choice for the sentiment and the sweet tulip. Stamping the leaves with Pear Pizzazz adds some subtle texture. The cute little Brushed Brass Butterflies add interest to the otherwise blank white space of the circle element.

Purchase your Flowering Tulips Bundle and I’ll send you supplies to make this card!

Paper Crafting Blog Hop - Turtle Friends

Welcome to the Paper Crafting Blog Hop! The March 2022 blog hop includes Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrators from around the world!  Talented Demonstrators from all over the globe including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia are participating!  You'll be wowed by a variety of creative projects and design styles!  You may have arrived from Sue's blog.  What a great project she had!

We are featuring animals with coordinating punches this month. Below is the card that I created using the Turtle Friends stamp set and coordinating Turtle Punch, both from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog.

When I'm at a loss of where to start, I take a look at Designer Series Paper for color combos.  So I went to the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper Pack and chose the two patterns above because they reminded me of the turtle shell.  Pool Party, Misty Moonlight, Crushed Curry, and Granny Apple Green are the featured colors on those sheets.  I love this pack of paper because there are so many patterns and black & white on the back.  It is a Host Reward product, so it's only available until May 2.

I am notoriously late with birthday cards so this sentiment was a must-have in my craft room.  I stamped the turtle outline in Misty Moonlight ink onto Granny Apple Green cardstock and then added the shell detail in Granny Apple Green ink.  So easy to punch this lil' guy out with the Turtle Punch!  He is popped up with Dimensionals and Mini Dimensionals are a perfect fit on his feet. The cute little clouds come from the Brilliant Rainbow Dies and the scalloped edge is from the Penned Flowers Dies.  The birthday banner is Crushed Curry cardstock punched on just one end with the Banners Pick A Punch.  Banners for sentiments are a great way to use up 1/2" scraps!
Pattern Party Designer Series Paper is easily overlooked!
Check it out on page 171 of the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog!

Stampin' with the Zetas

Earlier this week I got together with some Zeta Tau Alpha sisters from the Chicago Northwestern Suburban Alumnae group and we stamped cards for collegiates to send them words of encouragement during their upcoming finals.  This You're Amazing sentiment says it all!  We also put together some yummy treat bags!

This one above uses my favorite embellishment...Artistry Blooms Sequins!
They are self-adhesive so adding a bit of sparkle is quick and easy!

A super-easy watercolor look done with the beautiful stamps from Oceanfront and On the Horizon stamp sets.  The Just Breathe sentiment is a good reminder during the stress of finals week!

Crafty cards with Amanda
This is a great card layout!  I use it so often to showcase Designer Series Paper.  Although Sale-a-Bration is over and you can no longer get the Friendly Hello DSP and stamps, this "card map" used above can be used with just about ANY patterned paper!  I love how the wide ribbon was used...sometimes I'm at a loss of how to use ribbon that wide on a card.
DSP: 1-3/8" x 3" and White Layer: 4-1/2" x 3-1/4"

Pink Buckaroo
Another great "card map" card is shown above.  Use Designer Series Paper or stamp your own pattern.  You may not be able to see the true sparkle of the Supple Shimmer Specialty Paper used for the banner, but it does shimmer for sure!
The two panels measure 2" x 3-1/4" and 1" x 4" for the banner.  Use your favorite die-cut/punched shape for the sentiment.

I am so grateful for other SU! Demonstrators who share their ideas on our Demonstrator Planning Place FB group!  Their original ideas inspired some of the cards we made at our March meeting.
