Make a Difference Day!

So very proud of these young ladies...Ashlyn and Katrina!  This Little Miss organized an amazing event for our community on Make a Difference Day just a couple of weeks ago.  Lots of family fun with crafts, making scarfs to donate, and of course...hand-made birthday cards!   We helped with Miss Katrina's Call to Care initiative by crafting birthday cards for homeless & foster children.

I'm always looking for ways to Craft for a Cause and give back to our communities.  Next up is World Kindness Day on Saturday, November 13, 2021.  The purpose of World Kindness Day as outlined by the World Kindness Movement is “to highlight good deeds in the community focusing on the positive power and the common thread of kindness which binds us.” It is a day devoted to the positive potential of both large and small acts of kindness.

Hand-made cards are needed for this initiative "to get handmade cards to people who are in need of an emotional boost, a smile, or a helping hand".  Thinking of You, Happy Hello, and general non-specific sentiment are the greatest cards in need.  Feel free to drop off your cards to me or send your own!

How to "Mount" your Cling Stamps

With today being the once-a-year, one-day-only sale on stamps, I thought you'd like to see an alternate way to adhere those labels to your CLING STAMPS.  I've had much better luck "mounting" my cling stamps this way vs. following the directions that come with the stamps...

less air bubbles and higher success in getting them straight!

Textures & Frames are FUN!

Made this fun and bright card using the Sale-a-Bration Textures & Frames stamp set along with one of my favs Biggest Wish.  You can get this versatile stamp set for FREE with a qualifying $50 purchase, but just until the end of September!  And be sure to scroll down to see how I STEPPED IT UP!

Step it up to a casual and avid crafter card!

 To step up these cards I added some Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon and some more colored cardstock.  What I love about the three colors I used is that you get three additional colors on your card when you layer the circles...basic color theory at work!  Polished Pink, Mango Melody, and Coastal Cabana are bright and fun for these birthday cards! For the Avid Crafter Card I popped up the BIRTHDAY using a Tailored Made Tags Die and added some white twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack.  And OMG!  These Cute Stars Adhesive -Backed Sequins from the July-December 2021 Mini Catalog add just the right touch and they're nice and flat for mailing!

Dahlia Season during Sale-a-Bration!

The beautiful Delicate Dahlias with a photo-realistic look make a very quick and simple notecard.  I used Merry Merlot, Cajun Craze, and Bumblebee inks for the flowers and Early Espresso for the sentiment.  Vanilla Notecards are pre-scored and come with envelopes.  They are a great way to make a bunch of cards at once.  I sometimes refer to this method as Three-Color Cards.
