Happy Birthday Sunshine Card

It's always nice to get a bit of sunshine in the mail!  I was inspired to make this card by my stampin' friend Beth Rush and from a sample in the weekly email newsletter I get as a demonstrator from Stampin' Up!  The Sharing Sunshine stamp set is just so cute and quite a steal at just $16 US (plus shipping & tax).  It does include some sentiments and there is also a greeting set that coordinates called Sunny Sentiments, which I did not use...yet!

The striped strips of paper are from the You're a Peach Designer Series Paper and that design works perfectly for a sky background and creates a sense of movement.  It's a bonus that it's on sale this month!  You can watch how I put this card together by clicking on my Facebook LIVE video below.

You can see above how I used Stampin' Dimensionals to pop up two sections of the DSP, the sun, and the greeting. And I love the Bumblebee 1/4" Gingham Ribbon with the Balmy Blue card and the cute face of the sun!

And sometimes when I'm indecisive, I just make two different versions.  Can you tell the difference between the two cards above?  The stripes in the DSP!  Which do you prefer?  Vertical stripes or horizontal stripes in the Designer Series Paper?  The strips of DSP measure 3-3/4" x 1-1/8"

Lunch & Learn Live from Nashville!

 

Down in Nashville chaperoning some dancers so Tuesday Night Stampin' Club must go on hiatus...hence the July Lunch & Learn Lives!  My cards above are from this week's video.  As you may know, I love our amazing Designer Series Paper.  Especially now that select DSPs are 15% off until August 2, 2021.

These cards are part of the Pick 6 Wonder Class that I'm hosting (virtually) in August.  Get your DSP now and you can join the class for FREE!  Make sure you have some coordinating cardstock, a punch or label die, and some coordinating ribbon too!  And you know, some bling (sequins, jewels, gems, rhinestones, etc.) is optional but always a good idea!

This class is based on the Pick 6 Wonder Class that I participated in with hundreds of fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrators last week led by one of my favorite Stampin' Up! employees!

• Start with a 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper.  
• Cut a slit halfway down and halfway in.
• Slide them together and adhere two corners.
• Fold back the remaining tabs and adhere.

I used two different punches for the sentiments:  Everyday Label Punch and Label Me Lovely Punch.  You may be able to see that I trimmed part of the Label Me Lovely label to fit the card a bit better on the Flirty Flamingo card shown below.

You can make a ton of cards with a pack of DSP and a Color Family Cardstock Assortment pack.  The Sweet Symmetry Designer Series Paper would work well with the 2020-2022 In Color Assorted Pack.  Below you'll see the difference between Misty Moonlight (2020 In Color) and Night of Navy (Neutrals).
