Paper Crafting Blog Hop -Bags & Tags

Welcome to the Paper Crafting Blog Hop! Our December 2022 blog hop includes Stampin' Up! Our projects this month focus on Winter Holiday themed projects. I chose to feature bags and tags for last-minute gift packaging ideas! Every year I make home-made peanut brittle and white chocolate chex mix. Each year I'm looking for a fun way to package it up. I grabbed some lunch bags and ran them through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss machine with an embossing folder.

The white bag features the Whimsical Woodland 3D Embossing Folder...and it's on sale for just $4 right now! I also used the edging die from Scalloped Contours Dies for a cute topper edge. I cut it and then folded it over. The Designer Series Paper comes from the Host-Only DSP pack called Celebrate Everything Designer Series Paper from the July-December 2022 Mini Catalog. The tag uses the Decorative Circle Punch and the Framed & Festive stamp set. That stamp set is only available until January 4, 2023...it's one of my absolute favorites!

These close-ups show how nicely the paper bags get a beautiful texture from the embossing folder!

The brown paper bag features the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder. I tied the ribbon a bit differently so you could hang it on a door for a Secret Santa gift. And of course, I just HAD to add some Adhesive-Backed Seasonal Sequins to both bags! They are my FAVORITE embellishment!

Framed & Festive cards

Got to play with items from the Fitting Florets Collection yesterday! I used my favorite new holiday stamp set - Framed & Festive! It's only available while supplies last along with the beautiful Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper! But the coordinating Framed Florets stamps, dies, and bundle are available now through the spring in the upcoming January-June 2023 Mini Catalog!

I showcased two cards during my weekly Lunch & Learn Facebook Live on Wednesday. I'm loving how there are so many coordinating embellishments with this color palette of the DSP!

First off, I used the oval dies from the Framed Florets Dies to create the frame in Polished Pink and an oval in Basic White. I stamped the greeting in Night of Navy ink on the oval and die-cut the flowers from the Designer Series Paper. My embellishments choice are a bit surprising...the Sweet Sorbet Metallice Woven Ribbon and the Festive Pearls. The Sweet Sorbet ribbon has more of a pink tone so it coordinates so nicely with the Polished Pink! The pearls are Soft Succulent, but take on a Balmy Blue hue on this card.

Maybe you've heard me say that when I attack a new package of 12 x 12 DSP, I start by cutting that first sheet into 4" strips. It sure makes it easy for cardmaking! And that's what I did for both of these cards.

The strips of the green Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper are 1-1/2" x 4" and make a super-easy backdrop for any focal point. Here I used the Decorative Circle Punch for the sentiment and the beautiful Soft Succulent 1/2" Satin Shimmer Ribbon for a special hand-deliverable card. And don't forget to keep those 1/2" strips of white cardstock to use for small sentiments!
