Paper Crafting Blog Hop - Heartwarming Hugs

Welcome to our December 2020 Paper Crafting Blog Hop featuring Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrators from around the world!  Talented Demonstrators from all over the globe including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia are participating.  Get ready to be wowed by a variety of creative projects and design styles!  You may have arrived from Krissi's blog.  She had a fabulous project!

Last night I made boxes and bags that fit gift cards (those large ones that you find hanging on the gift card carousel in the grocery store) or even a small stack of hand-crafted note cards.  I had been thinking of a fun and quick way to package gift cards and I think I was successful!  The Warm Hugs stamp set made cute "tags" for the boxes and bags!

You can see in the photos above how the gift card will fit in the bag and the notecards and envelopes will fit in the box and vice versa!

To make the card stock box...
Bottom piece measures 6 -1/4" x 8"; Score at 1-1/4" on all four sides.
Top piece measures 4-3/4" x 6-1/2"; Score at 1/2"
Cut short score lines like an "H" and fold in small flaps and adhere.  You won't be cutting out pieces, just a short cut to make flaps.

To make the DSP bag...
Cut a piece of DSP that measures 12" x 8-1/2"
Score 1" from the top and 2" from the bottom.
Along the 12" side, score at: 2", 5-3/4", 7-3/4", and 11-1/2"
See the template photo below.

Cut the bottom flaps and bottom notch out.  Fold the top down for the contrast on the front of your bag.  Fold along the other score lines and assemble the bag adhering the 1/2" flap to the inside of the bag.
It really doesn't take much time at all!  And if you're a paper hoarder like me, you'll have plenty of designs to choose from and get addicted to making these cute bags!
