Double Wonder!

I was able to make 11 cards in under 10 minutes per card and it cost me way less than $10!  It was a perk of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator in the Great Lakes Region.  Our awesome Demonstrator Development Manager, Shannon West,  hosted a Facebook Live a couple of weeks ago and we all created cards based off of the Double Wonder concept.  The cards above are my first batch.  The cards featured below are my second batch.  Are you interested in making quick cards to send to family, friends, and anyone who needs a little hello?  I'll be walking through the how-to's during my own Facebook Live on Tuesday, April 21 at 7:00 pm.  Join me on FB @SimplySheStamps

You can participate by using your own supplies that you already have or sign up to get the supplies for Magnolia Blooms version shown below for just $5 if you live locally (you will need your own stamps and ink and ribbon may be slightly different).  If you'd like to create with me and need supplies, you'll find the list of what you need down below.  Instructions will be posted here before LIVE event.

Double Wonder Supply List

  • 2 Coordinating Sheets of Designer Paper: will use half of each
  • 6 sheets colored cardstock - in colors to coordinate with the designer paper
  • 2 sheets Whisper White (or Very Vanilla) Cardstock
  • Coordinating Ribbon
  • Greeting Stamps
  • Inkpad - neutral/coordinating color
  • Punch (or die-cut shapes) to fit your greetings
  • Adhesive
  • Dimensionals

Here is the template for cutting your 6x12 piece of DSP!

Section 1 (far left): slice at 4-1/2" then cut into 3 strips 1-1/2" wide, and finally cut those in half at 3" so you have 12 strips that are 1-1/2" x 3". Also need 4 pieces of Whisper White that are 5" x 3-1/4".

Section 2 (middle): slice at 4" then trim 3/4" from the top and set aside. Then cut into 4 strips 1" wide so you have 8 strips that are 1" x 5-1/4". Piece set aside (use with 3rd section) is 4" x 3/4".

Section 3 (far right): from bottom cut 2-1/4" and again 2-1/4". You have 4 pieces that are 3-1/2" x 2-1/4" and two leftover pieces that are 3-1-2" x 1-1/2". Cut those in half, you'll have 4 pieces that are 1-3/4" x 1-1/2"...for bonus card.

Almost there!

I can't even remember how long it's been since I had to move out of my stamp room due to a deteriorating ceiling...which was later discovered to be due to a roof leak, not a leaky pipe or vent as we first thought.  It HAS to be over a year since I've held stamp camp and clubs in my stamp room.  And with my supplies in two different locations, I've been getting my exercise going back and forth from stamp room to office or kitchen table...not very efficient though!

Roof shingles attached.  Ceiling patched and painted...yes, the WHOLE ceiling had to be painted...what a pain in the neck...literally:)  Walls painted...I finished the paint touch up on the walls shown above this morning.  I must say, the paint blended so nicely that you can't even tell where I had to touch up...yay!  Just need to finish up cleaning up the dust, supplies, and garbage and I'll be moving back in by tomorrow!

Join me in "re-christening" the Stamp Room on July 20th with my Affectionately Yours class.  You'll create six cards (two of three different designs) and a 3D item using the Affectionately Yours Designer Series Paper and coordinating stamp set and accessories...including on-trend copper embossing powder and copper  thread.  Registration deadline is July 11.  Class fee of $40 includes your own pack of DSP and Love & Affection stamp set.  Contact me to register or use the Hostess Code:  6DT2H69A when you order online at my website
