Catalog Kick-Off Cards

The Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper showcases the new 2021-2023 In Colors so beautifully!  My customers received the supplies to make one of these cards during my virtual Catalog Kick-off Event.  They were able to choose their own greeting to stamp on the completed card they made.  Evening Evergreen was the perfect color to use for the sentiment on the Pale Papaya DSP.  And I love the strip of Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon over the gingham paper....the small touches can make such a difference!

I'm lovin' Pale Papaya!  And the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper was just begging to be used for One-Sheet Wonder Cards!  If you don't know what that means...check out this past post and this one too.  Basically, it means you find efficient ways to cut up your DSP to create quick and easy beautiful cards.

We made the Happy Birthday card above as well during my Catalog Kick-Off Event.  The Label Me Lovely punch is my new go-to since the circle punches have retired.  Another small strip of ribbon...the Pale Papaya & White 1/2" Woven Ribbon...adds a nice touch.  Those flowers popped up were cut out from the DSP.  Can you see the new Silver & Clear Epoxy Essential raindrops?  They're perfect to embellish floral cards!

Teachers...You Got This!

It's Teacher Appreciation week this coming week.  To all the teachers out there...the end is near!  What a year for you all.  We appreciate your dedication, hard work, and efforts in learning how to serve students during a pandemic!  To everyone else out there...

I used one of my favorite stamp sets to create the cards above, Ridiculously Awesome, and it is retiring (I have absolutely no idea why after just one year in the catalog)!  There's a great story behind the stamp set...Million Dollar Sales Achiever Rhonda Wade worked with CEO Sara Douglass' husband Sean to design this hand-written stamp set.  I LOVE the messages!  Unfortunately, it is sold out:(

You can swap out with another set that I'm sad is retiring...the Strong & Beautiful set.  To be honest, I did overlook it in the catalog for quite a while, but the sentiments are spot-on for the strong & beautiful in our lives!

Fresh Freesia is Dressed to Impress!

So long Purple Posy and Hello to Fresh Freesia! 

 It's a new 2021-2023 In Color which will be available on May 4!  I've been playing around with the yummy new In Colors...maybe you've seen me on Facebook @SimplySheStamps.  You can watch the replay from earlier this week by clicking on the video below.  And yes, I played around with my project after filming and you see the end result further down here on my blog post.

I made a cute little coordinating gift bag using the new Ombre Gift Bags to go along with my card.  Can you believe I found a perfectly coordinating mini clothespin in a craft store?!?!?  Stampin' Up! definitely is on-trend with these new In Colors!  You see a touch of Pale Papaya as well on the Parfum.

Paper Crafting Blog Hop - Prized Peony

 

Welcome to the Paper Crafting Blog Hop!  Our theme this month is Thinking of You Girls.  The April 2021 blog hop includes Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrators from around the world!  Talented Demonstrators from all over the globe including the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia are participating!  Get ready to be wowed by a variety of creative projects and design styles!  You may have arrived from  Sandy's blog.  She had a beautiful project!

Now, I have a confession...I am a DSP hoarder.  

Designer Series Paper (DSP) is my favorite... #designerseriespaperrrocks! Out there in the paper-crafting social media world people have been posting cards using almost a half sheet of DSP for one card...gasp!  But you know what, the beautiful result is absolutely worth it!  So below you will see my DSP Tri-fold Fun Fold card. 

Measurements and Instructions:

• Cut your DSP to 5-1/2" x 12"
• Score at 3-3/4" and 7-3/4" and accordion fold to create card base.
• Inside Gray Granite panel is 3-3/4" x 5-1/2" and Basic White is 3-1/2" x 5-1/2"

My project showcases some items from the Peony Garden Suite of which I used the Prized Peony Bundle (stamps and coordinating dies), the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper, and Elegant Faceted Gems.

You may also notice the texture and color on the peony.  I ran the pieces of the peony through the Old World Paper Embossing Folder and used the Blending Brush with Petal Pink ink on the edges before I assembled the peony.  The Old World Paper EF is retiring, so if you love the peonies, you're gonna wanna get one of these embossing folders before they're gone!  It adds such a realistic touch to the petals of the peonies!

I love how you get a peek of the Designer Series Paper framing the front of the card.

I made this tri-fold card last night during my Facebook Live, so you can even see how to make it in action!  Just do as I say, not as I do... use the scoring blade, not the cutting blade!
